The main goal of the project was to remove the visual fragmentation of seafront both from the formal point of view, with flooring and furnishings of all types, and from a functional point of view.
Piazza Punta dell’Inferno was designed to give ample emphasis to two natural elements, the vegetation and the path at the height of the cliff with its natural pools.
The shading was then expanded by thinking of light canopies, to create a resting and meeting space that can be pleasant at all times of the year. The water mirror of the dock has been then enlarged to offer more docking options, especially in the summer season.
Containment walls and small changes in elevation help to reconfigure the site through a careful intervention of “reunification” of the tears suffered by the site.
The enhancement of the cliff, interspersed with small beaches, which follows the entire promenade, is part of this re-design process.
